Counselling for Kids
At Make a Joyful Noise Wellbeing and Counselling, we love to see kids reach their amazing potential. If your child has areas of their life that they are finding challenging, we would love to see if we can help you out. We specialise in counselling services for kids aged 4–12 years old in Lakes Entrance and surrounds.
Ruth primarily uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy techniques within a child-centred framework in order to help kids thrive. She caters sessions to the unique needs and interests of each child. This could include using music, art, games and many other activities.
Counselling journeys are unique for everyone and we understand how important it is to find support that fits you and your family best. That's why we've created a process that helps to ensure we are the right fit for you before you need to sign up to anything. See our process below for more information.

The Counselling Process
Email (FREE)
Contact us via email to let us know that you might be interested in your child having counselling at Make a Joyful Noise. Let us know any questions you have and we will answer them as best as we can.
1
Phone Chat (20 minutes FREE)
We can organise for a free 20 min phone call between our counsellor and yourself (parent/guardian). This allows you to get a feel for whether you think we will be the best option for you and your family and whether the counsellor also feels we will be a good fit.
2
Questionnaires (FREE)
We will send you some questionnaires via email to fill out and return to us. These help us to further assess whether counselling with us is the best option for you.
3
Counselling Sessions ($115)
If everyone is happy to proceed, we can start the counselling sessions. This begins with ensuring everyone understands the process and forming a collaborative counselling plan. Most sessions will be one-on-one, face-to-face sessions between the child and the counsellor (with their parent/guardian in the room). Other sessions can be organised between the counsellor and the child’s parent/guardian if desired. All sessions are 45 minutes.
